BANKS AND BANKERS ARE GETTING RICHER THROUGH FOOLISH DEAD HUSBANDS.

While talking with a female bank manager, she made a scary revelation to me. She told me how Nigerian bank vaults are filled with monies of dead men who kept their bank accounts secret from their wives. She explained it was against bank ethics or policies for an account officer to inform the relatives of a deceased customer of his account (without his permission). And since the man is dead, without giving his permission, the bank dubiously keeps silent about the money. She told me it is rampant among many businessmen. She revealed many instances of dead men whose families are still suffering, while they have millions stashed in their secret accounts. She mentioned one that happened few months back. The man died and the wife was crying all over the place, looking for money to bury him. Whereas the man had nothing less than 60 million naira in his accounts. The banker said it got to a stage that she could no longer bear it, her conscience was pummelling her. She had to go against h...

A MUST Read And An Excellent Article By Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo.

I am a terminal optimist; ‘a believer’ in Nigeria’s future greatness, that is why three years ago, I would not have believed a bag of rice could be sold for the national minimum wage. With 87million extremely poor people and 13million children out of school in 2018, the mighty has indeed fallen and change has come. Now I know ‘all things’ are possible in a country ruled by incompetent ‘saints’. We have mass starvation in the North East, yet a clan of ‘Grass cutters’ are making their billions and smiling to the bank with the blood of hungry, homeless children, and internally displaced people in their hands. We hear rumors of ‘Bama Initiatives’ yet the fraternity in power manufactures internal solutions and our conniving cabinet of ‘saints’ watch in silence. They seek another term for their inaction, they call out the nation to pray for God to bless their cluelessness while we wait forever, for just anyone to answer the ‘grass cutter’s’ question; ‘who is the presidency?’ There ar...

Wilder retains world title as epic battle ends in controversial split decision - live reaction.

The moment of the decision CREDIT: AP Gareth A Davies, boxing correspondent, at the staples center (report and live updates) Molly McElwee, (live updates) Telegraph Sport Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury fought to a split draw Saturday night, with the Alabaman retaining his WBC heavyweight title for an eighth time after knocking down his British challenger twice. But it was a dramatic contest, and a bewildering performance from the self-proclaimed Gypsy King, whose movement and footwork, slipping and sliding allowed him to win most of the rounds. But when Wilder landed, he was dangerous, flooring Fury in the ninth and twelfth rounds. Fury did well to recover from the second knockdown as Jack Reiss counted him. Somehow, Fury got back to his feet and even had an exhausted Wilder in trouble. Judge Robert Tapper scored the fight 114-112 for Fury, while Alejandro Rochin favored Wilder 115-111. Judge Phil Edwards, the only British judge, scored it a 113-113 draw. Your correspondent had ...
