Donald Trump has taken power as the 45th president of the United States and pledged to pursue "America First" policies in an inaugural address that has been a populist, anti-Washington rallying cry. Trump sworn in Sketching a bleak vision of a country he said was ravaged by rusted-out factories, crime, gangs and drugs, Trump indirectly blamed his predecessors in the White House for policies that helped the establishment at the expense of struggling families. "From this moment on, it's going to be America First," the Republican told hundreds of thousands of people gathered on the grounds of the National Mall after taking the oath of office on the West Front of the US Capitol on Friday. Four past US presidents, three Democrats and a Republican, sat nearby. Scattered street protests erupted against Trump elsewhere in Washington. Buhari was deliberately penciled out of Trump’s inauguration – Fayose

Image
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described the non- invitation of President Muhammadu Buhari to Donald Trump’s inauguration as the President of the United States of America on Friday (today) as a clear signal that the President has lost international relevance. The governor said the development was a very clear signal that Buhari’s government would not enjoy tangible support from the new US government. Fayose, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, on Thursday said there was no doubt that Buhari was not in the good books of the incoming US government. But the Presidency said there was no truth in the claim that Buhari was shut out of Trump’s inauguration as it was not in the character of the US to invite Heads of State or Presidents to the inauguration of its Presidents. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this in a message posted on his Facebook pag...
