Two men arrested for allegedly defiling 11-month-old baby, 3 other minors in Anambra.

Two men, Peter Ezeala, 61, and Elochukwu Igwilo, 27, suspected to have defiled an 11-month-old baby and three other minors has been arrested by the police at Umudim Nnewi-North Local Government Area of Anambra state. The State police spokesman, DSP Ikenga Tochi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, March 21. The statement reads; “The Commissioner of Police CP Echeng Echeng today 21/3/2022 has admonished parents/guardians to be careful of who they leave the custody of their children/wards, following the outcome of the investigation of 4 children rescued by police operatives on a reported case of defilement in Umudimi, Nnewi. “The Command Operatives swung into action and arrested the alleged two suspects namely: Peter Ezeala aged 61 from Mbano, Imo State and Mr Elochukwu Igwilo aged 27 from Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State.” Investigation reveals that the mother of the victims, a trader, had always left the children under the care of the suspects whenever she was away...

Court jails brothers for stealing ceiling fans from mosque.

An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Monday sentenced two brothers, Anu, 20 and Tayo Akinsanya,18, to three months imprisonment each for stealing two celling fans from a Mosque worth N44,000. Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convicts committed the offence on March 17 at about 11.30 pm at Iwoye town in Ota. Adaraloye claimed that the convicts had broken into the Iwoye Central Mosque and stolen two ceiling fans worth N44, 000. He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 390(9), 451, and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006. The convicts, whose addresses were not provided, were thus charged with theft and burglary. Magistrate A. O. Adeyemi observed that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubts, and found the duo guilty of the charge preferred against them. Evil Fire outbreak under Eko/Apongbon -bridge and market in , Lagos.

Many shops have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at Apongbon market on Lagos Island. The fire, which is currently raging, has caused a gridlock on the Eko bridge. According to a source reaching Genesis Nollywood TV, the incident happened around 7am, Wednesday, March 23, 2022. The cause of the inferno is yet to be determined. Motorists have been urged to ply alternative route following the reports of the fire which gutted some vehicles under the Eko Bridge. As of the time of filing this report, the federal and Lagos fire services are at the scene of the incident, trying to put out the fire. There was drama at the inauguration of Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra state when Ebelechukwu, wife of Willie Obiano, his predecessor, and Bianca Ojukwu engaged in a fisticuff at the event. Soludo was sworn in at the government house in Anambra on Thursday. The incident reportedly occurred immediately after Soludo took his oath of office. Lekki Residents Cries As Truck Crushes Bike Rider And Two Others To death.

The unidentified truck was carrying sand when the accident occurred on Tuesday morning around Eleganza Bus Stop in the Lekki area of Lagos. The truck has since been vandalised and set on fire by mob in the area. The accident also caused gridlock in the axis, with many commuters stuck in traffic for several hours. The Lekki Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Assistant Corps Commander, Sani Abdullahi, confirmed the casualties. “My team that went to the scene of the incident confirmed that three people died in the accident,” Sanni said. Explosion In Shango-Tedo Along Lekki-Epe Express, Lagos.

At about 5am today, a serious explosion occurred along Lekki-Epe express way in Shango-Tedo area. Investigation coupled with eye witness report proved that a trailer looks to be smuggling crude oil or very inflammable chemicals in a thousand of drums had a bad tire which resulted to fire. Some motorist tried to call the drivers attention to his burning tire but he kept on driving (due to the nature of the content in his trailer) After driving few kilometers, the burning tire heated the container which resulted to a very serious & loud explosions. The explosion affected many laid out commodities which is mostly found displayed on our road sides like cements, water tanks, displayed paints and a commuter hatch-back car driving in front of the trailer.
