Ademola adeleke Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has been sworn-in as the 6th elected Governor of Osun State This Sunday morning the 27th day of November 2022. At exactly 11:54am, Adeleke became the governor of Osun State after being administered oaths of allegiance and office by the State’s President of the Customary Court before a mammoth crowd of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members, supporters and guests from all walks of life. Sammie Okposo slumped, died at 51.

RMD, Righteousman, others mourn It was a black Friday for the Nigerian entertainment industry as it lost yet another prominent singer, Sammie Okposo to the cold hands of death. Okposo, 51, died yesterday in Lagos after he reportedly slumped while he was being treated for exhaustion. His colleague, Righteousman confirmed the sad news to Saturday Vanguard. He described Okposo’s sudden demise as ‘tragic’, adding that the singer had also collapsed last week upon his return from his praise party concert in the UK and was being treated for exhaustion before he eventually slumped. According to him, the ‘Welu Welu’ singer was a workaholic who hardly found time to rest. “We should learn to take time to rest, Sammie Okposo was always working. I will personally miss him. Daniel Bwala, spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has described the newly redesigned Naira denominations as inconsequential. President Muhammadu Buhari unveiled the new currency notes on Wednesday morning before the federal executive council (FEC) meeting at the state house, Abuja. The redesigned notes presented to the public were the N1000, N500 and N200 — the country’s highest currency denominations. Speaking during the unveiling, Buhari said the redesigned notes will help the country to address the issue of illicit financial flows, corruption, improve the economy and the value of the Nigerian currency. Reactions have trailed the newly redesigned naira notes after they were officially unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari unveiled the new currency notes on Wednesday morning before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the state house, Abuja. The redesigned naira notes are N200, N500 and N1,000 denominations. In reactions, about 85% Nigerians have knocked the Federal Government and the CBN for what many described as an unimpressive design. Remove Arabic Inscription From Redesigned Naira Notes.

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has been asked to remove the Arabic inscription from the redesigned naira notes. Tever Akase, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on Media and Publicity, said all Nigerian languages should be on the currencies, not Arabic. In a tweet, Akase lamented that Arabic is not Nigeria’s second official language. He wrote: “Those redesigning the naira notes should ensure that inscriptions of all Nigerian languages are on the currencies. “If this is impossible, they should remove the existing Arabic inscriptions and leave only English on the new notes. Arabic is not Nigeria’s 2nd official language.” The apex bank would unveil the redesigned naira notes on December 15, 2022. The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said the new currencies to be launched are N1,000, N500 and N200 notes.
