On the first day of the ban, over 95 per cent compliance rate was recorded across the affected councils, but as the days went by, the highways and major bridges, which were hitherto deserted by cyclists began to witness cyclists’ presence. The ban, which was announced on May 18, 2022, was the second in 27 months, by the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led government.
